To start off this new website/blog, I wanted to talk about a very influential body positivity advocate whose name is Nicole Kelly. She is a very brave, passionate woman who was born with only one arm. Nicole has become a public speaker on the concept of being "different." She's also pretty fucking cool. Miss Kelly says that she wants to change the beauty standards of disability in the industry by being a positive role model for girls who are questioning their own bodies. You can read more about here at her website: https://www.missnicolegkelly.com/
Body image doesn't necessarily have to fit into one little box of issues. It can be a range going from your height to literally missing a body part. It travels from all genders, sizes, ages, and colors, but its importance never changes. What changes is the effect on each of us, and how we react. We need to embrace our differences, and use them as lessons for ourselves to do better, to help others, and to be comfortable with our own self.
